2012: An exceptional year for Laurent-Perrier
Let’s discover wines from around the world! In this xtraWine article, we introduce Laurent-Perrier’s Champagne Brut Millésimé 2012.
For the Maison Laurent-Perrier, 2012 is a particular year, both a great vintage and the year of its bicentennial celebration. Since then, Alexandra and Stéphanie de Nonancourt have presided over the destinies of Laurent-Perrier with conviction, determination and the same pioneering and innovative spirit as their father, Bernard de Nonancourt.
In 2012, the weather in Champagne was capricious, punctuated by successive climatic incidents: winter frost, spring frost and several hailstorms that caused damage in many areas of the vineyard. Fortunately, a dry and sunny summer allowed the grapes to ripen exceptionally well at harvest time in September in limited volumes.
Champagne Brut Millésimé 2012: one of the best vintages
After ageing for almost ten years in the cellar, we have confirmation that Laurent-Perrier has produced one of its finest vintages. Made exclusively from Chardonnay Crus from the Côte des Blancs and Pinot Noir from La Montagne de Reims, Laurent-Perrier Brut Millésimé 2012 is a chiselled and perfectly balanced wine that expresses all the freshness, finesse and elegance that characterise Maison’s style.
Organoleptic characteristics
A light gold colour with fine and persistent effervescence, it opens on the nose with very floral notes of citrus and white peach. On the palate, the Champagne is lively, with great finesse giving way to a beautiful minerality finishing with grapefruit notes.
We recommend you serve between 9°C and 11°C. The Laurent-Perrier Brut Millésimé 2012 pairs perfectly with seafood and noble fish. Moreover, it pairs well with meat such as poultry or veal. It will also sublimate pressed cooked cheeses such as a young Comté or Beaufort.
