Feudi di San Gregorio, a place between art and culture

For several years now, the company has been on a path of sustainability, leading it to become a Benefit Company and B Corp in June 2022. Hence the desire to be not just a winery but a place of meeting, discussion, and knowledge; a hub of ideas, art and culture.
Nature and architecture
With this objective in mind, projects in collaboration with leading figures in design, architecture, art and photography were born. With their work, these professionals have contributed to building the winery’s image and bringing value to the local area.
Feudi di San Gregorio has always combined the process of production growth with the development of design through the functional design of the winery to combine spaces suitable for excellent wine-making with a vocation for beauty and hospitality.
Japanese architect Hikaru Mori redesigned the winery. Therefore, the designer turned the winery’s philosophy into architecture by choosing essential lines and creating spaces of significant impact.
The fundamental principle was the minimal environmental impact and smooth lines.
As a result, the new wine winery inaugurated in 2004 was one of the first art wineries in Italy, exhibited twice as architectural excellence at the art exhibition of “La Biennale di Venezia” in Venice.
If you are a wine lover, fan, or curious about art and design, you just have to book a visit.
Vocation for beauty and hospitality
Equal attention has been paid to the interior furnishings for which the Feudi di San Gregorio winery has called upon Massimo and Lella Vignelli, protagonists of Italian design in the world, as designers.
Moreover, with the artist labels project, every two years Feudi di San Gregorio calls upon an artist to create a site-specific work in the winery that enriches the contemporary art collection in support of the non-profit organisation Fondazione di Comunità San Gennaro of Naples. This work remains then available to all guests.
An all-around welcome that counts more than 20,000 presences a year, also thanks to the proposals aimed at wine tourism that include various visit routes in the vineyard and the cellar.
Climbing the hill towards Sorbo Serpico, one enters a ‘cube’. The structure is designed to metaphorically break the continuity of reality and to be able to enter the world of Feudi with new eyes.
A world that symbolically narrates the land through water, plants and the amphitheatre on the outside of the structure.
Inside, the underground area houses the winemaking spaces, the barrique cellar, the suspended tasting room and the historic cellar.
On the upper floors, on the other hand, are the offices, the lobby that houses some works of art related to wine and the history of the winery, the Wine Shop and, on the roof, the gourmet restaurant Marennà.
According to Feudi di San Gregorio, tasting is above all sharing, and not just a glass of wine but also the story and the emotions that revolve around it.
