It\u2019s so strange to think back and remember that about twenty years ago the internet was just a shadow of what it has become in the modern age. During the days of dial-up modems that cut their connections whenever somebody used the phone, it was hard to imagine a world where the internet would be the massively pervasive force that it has evolved into.<\/p>\n

For the wine lover, it is very good news that it has. The early days of the internet gave rise to the idea of eCommerce.<\/a> Many people had the idea to sell their wares online. However, slow connection speeds and worries about security prevented many potential buyers from using the web as a resource in the early days. That is not the case anymore. eCommerce competes handily with physical sales and there we will be nobody reading this who hasn\u2019t bought something online at some point in their lives. eCommerce has been huge for so many different industries. In Italian wine, eCommerce has opened up the industry to a huge audience that may never have been breached were it not for the internet. One only needs to look at the amazing strides being made in China, India, and other countries that have traditionally not been seen as big markets for wine to see that.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s exciting is that there is always room to go. As yet more technologies get introduced into the internet, we are sure that eCommerce will evolve. The future looks bright because it is online.<\/p>\n
