A true masterpiece, akin to a painting. <strong>In 2014<\/strong>, Barolo earned r<strong>ecognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site<\/strong>, celebrating its unique contribution to humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The vineyards of <strong>Lo<\/strong> <strong>Zoccolaio estate<\/strong> boast one of the <strong>finest exposures in the region<\/strong>. Exposure is <strong>a crucial factor for grape varieties<\/strong> like &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.xtrawine.com\/collections\/nebbiolo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nebbiolo da Barolo<\/a>,&#8221; demanding specific soil and climatic conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the estate&#8217;s vineyards, scattered across the hills, create a sublime harmony. These vineyards are a captivating spectacle for visitors and yield exceptional grapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-three-generations-bridging-tradition-and-innovation\"><strong>Three Generations Bridging Tradition and Innovation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Cascina <strong>Lo Zoccolaio<\/strong>, a typical winery, <strong>owes its name<\/strong> to <strong>an ancient wooden shoe manufacturer<\/strong> who once resided there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong>three generations<\/strong>, Cascina Lo Zoccolaio has passed down the <strong>values<\/strong> of <strong>tradition<\/strong> <strong>and innovation<\/strong>. We began with the &#8216;modernism&#8217; of barrique aging, only to return to the use of larger wooden casks. Architectural choices were revisited during recent renovations, embracing a more contemporary aesthetic with materials and colors inspired by the territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lo Zoccolaio estate, in addition to the vineyards in the municipality of <strong>Barolo<\/strong>, also <strong>owns vineyards<\/strong> in <strong>Ornate<\/strong>, Monforte d\u2019Alba, plots in <strong>Verduno<\/strong>, <strong>and<\/strong> the <strong>Ravera<\/strong> locality in Novello. Here, the eponymous and prestigious Ravera cru, the black label, is produced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-barolo-ravera-riserva-2017\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.xtrawine.com\/products\/lo-zoccolaio-barolo-ravera-riserva-2017\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Barolo Ravera Riserva 2017<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Lo Zoccolaio winery follows the traditional process precisely. In the vineyard, grapes are treated with love and respect, which means that Lo Zoccolaio&#8217;s <strong>guidelines<\/strong> do <strong>not<\/strong> involve the <strong>use of herbicides<\/strong>. Furthermore, controlled ground cover is maintained between the rows through cover cropping, <strong>respecting the rhythms of nature<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Harvesting is strictly manual<\/strong>. Only the best grapes, with lower yields but better quality, are selected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 27%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-winemaking\"><strong>Winemaking<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>From harvest, we move to destemming and soft pressing. This is followed by <strong>fermentation in stainless steel tanks<\/strong> at a controlled temperature of <strong>28 \u00b0C<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The must remains in contact with the skins for 18 days. After racking, the cellar conditions are created for a perfect malolactic fermentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-aging\"><strong>Aging<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The wine matures <strong>in large Slavonian oak barrels<\/strong> (2,500 liters) for <strong>42 months<\/strong> and refines in the bottle for 6 months before being sold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All steps are taken with care<\/strong>, leaving nothing to chance. Everything is done <strong>in accordance with tradition<\/strong>, <strong>utilizing the most modern methodologies and tools<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-organoleptic-characteristics\"><strong>Organoleptic Characteristics<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Bright and crystalline <strong>ruby red color<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Intense<\/strong>, <strong>full<\/strong>, and <strong>persistent aroma<\/strong>: reminiscent of dried roses, alpine flowers, and noble wood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Great structure<\/strong>, <strong>well-balanced thanks to mature tannins<\/strong>. Good acidity, accompanied by nuanced and persistent aromas.
