Wine No. 1 – Pietrabianca Castel del Monte Tenuta Bocca di Lupo Bio 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hailing from the Apulia region, Pietrabianca Castel del Monte Tenuta Bocca di Lupo Bio 2021 is a still white organic Italian wine. So immediately, it has qualities that those who wish to experience the most natural versions of Italian wines will enjoy. Best served chilled, this wine has between five and 10 years of longevity, though it can also be enjoyed young.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wine is ideal for warm spring and summer evenings. Upon pouring, you will see the ageing potential in the colouring, which has a greenish reflex floating throughout to indicate that the wine can be aged. Bring this wine to the nose and you\u2019ll absorb an intense combination of aromas that bring together ripe apple and white peach with traces of vanilla wood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Balance is the key to this wine\u2019s taste, with the acidity being well-tempered by the vanilla wood notes. A soft entrance makes this an accessible wine that pairs beautifully with fish, poultry, and cheese. It\u2019s also good for taking the edge off spicier foods. Made using 95% Chardonnay and 5% Fiano, the wine carries the DOC Castel del Monte Chardonnay and has a 93\/100 rating from the Xtrawine team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wine No. 2 – Girolamo Russo Etna Rosso A’Rina 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A stunning red still Italian wine from Sicily, Girolamo Russo Etna Rosso A’Rina 2020 has stunning ruby red colouring, though it can be aged up to 15 years if you wish to allow the wine to reveal its true characteristics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Assuming you drink it young, you\u2019ll be struck by an elegant and complex bouquet that brings together fruity notes of plums and cherries with earthier notes of leather and tobacco. While this may suggest a complicated wine to the taste, you\u2019ll find the wine to be surprisingly fresh when introduced to the palate. It has velvety smooth tannins and a balanced structure, making it a joy to drink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pairing easily with most meats and some mature cheeses, the wine is made using a combination of the Nerollo Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes.
