For many years now, Sicily <\/strong>has been rightfully included among the lands where excellent wines of exceptional character are produced, which perfectly capture the characteristics of the terroir of origin, offering top-quality bottles every year. Since 1824, Duca di Salaparuta<\/a> has been a key player in the wine-making history of this Island and has always shared its own history and experience through its selected grape varieties. The wines of the Duca di Salaparuta Estates<\/a><\/strong> are produced in three different areas of Sicily, each with extraordinary characteristics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Su<\/strong><\/a>or Marchesa Estate<\/a><\/strong>, in sunny Riesi, sumptuous red wines are produced such as Passo delle Mule. This is also where Duca di Salaparuta has chosen to grow a grape variety that is certainly rather uncommon in this area, the Vermentino di Sentiero del Vento. The wines of the Duca di Salaparuta Estates<\/a> <\/strong>reflect a strong local identity through classic grape varieties, such as Nero d\u2019Avola<\/a> and Nerello Mascalese<\/a>, but also allow new sensations to be discovered thanks to its non-native grape varieties such as Vermentino <\/a>and Pinot Noir<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the charming Vajasindi Estate<\/a><\/strong>, on the slopes of Mount Etna, Duca di Salaparuta has decided to enrich its Line of Tenute Duca di Salaparuta wines<\/a><\/strong> with an innovative experiment by growing Pinot Noir grapes. These beautiful wild lands, with volcanic soils at a high altitude and temperature fluctuations that are rather unusual for Sicily, are \u2013\u00a0quite unexpectedly \u2013 home to Pinot Noir grapes<\/a>: Duca di Salaparuta realise that it was the ideal area to create one of its most original wines, Duca Nero, a Pinot Noir sparkling varietal wine made according to the Charmat method. Last but not least, at the Risignolo Estate<\/a><\/strong>, the white wines of the Duca di Salaparuta Estates<\/strong> are produced on the gentle hills around Salemi. This area, one of Italy\u2019s main vine-growing provinces, has the ideal terrain for Grillo and Insolia grapes. In fact, Duca di <\/a>Salaparuta <\/a>has found a way to highlight the unique features of these grapes, which are grown on high ground, caressed by the cool sea breeze, and then made into varietal wine. The wines of the Duca di Salaparuta Estates<\/a><\/strong> stem from the desire to add a more personal touch to the Company\u2019s most popular grape varieties, presenting Sicily from an ever-changing point of view in order to offer even particularly curious wine lovers a range of wines that are anything but ordinary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
