But all of that doesn\u2019t mean that we can\u2019t make New Year\u2019s Eve special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, it\u2019s going to be very different to what we\u2019re used to. But there are still plenty of ways to have fun, even if you\u2019re stuck at home for the big day. And in this article, we\u2019re going to share some tips for doing just that, starting with\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip #1 \u2013 Get Plenty of Italian Wine<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You knew that we\u2019d start off with this one and for good reason. Alcohol has always been a part of the New Year\u2019s celebrations and there\u2019s nothing quite like enjoying a nice glass of bubbly when the clock strikes midnight and we can finally say goodbye to the awfulness of 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, Prosecco is going to be the choice of many as sparkling wines are always great for a celebration. So, our advice is to get on the phone and start calling your nearest and dearest. Even something as small as a text lets somebody you love know that you\u2019re thinking about them and wish they could be there during this big day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want to get really ambitious, you could even set up a conference call on one of the many video callings apps out there and share the New Year with people that you can actually see! Granted, it\u2019s not quite the same as being face-to-face. But you still get to enjoy that all-important connection during a night of the year that\u2019s built for that very thing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip #3 \u2013 Remind Yourself About The Great Things in Life<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2020 has been a rough year and it\u2019s thrown many a negative thing our way. But that doesn\u2019t mean there\u2019s nothing to feel positive about. Despite the pandemic doing its best to tear us all apart, so many of us have used this opportunity to build stronger bonds and create a renewed appreciation for the amazing value that our friends bring into our lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, why not take a moment, no matter how brief, to remind yourself of all of the positives that you have in life? We understand that this may be difficult, especially for those who\u2019ve lose someone or something as a result of the events of the year. But that small piece of positive affirmation will serve as a reminder that life will go on and that we can get through this together!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip #4 \u2013 Dress Up and Decorate<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How about something a little more practical?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the great joys of celebrating New Year\u2019s is that it gives us an opportunity to dress up and celebrate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Granted, you won\u2019t be seen by quite as many people but there\u2019s still plenty of opportunities to make this a night unlike any other of the year. On a similar note, consider decorating the house so that it feels a little more like you\u2019re enjoying a traditional New Year\u2019s party. As crazy as it might sound, even something as simple as a couple of \u201c2021\u201d balloons can do a lot to create a celebratory atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip #5 \u2013 Make a Scrap Book<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps you\u2019re not in the party mood. That\u2019s certainly understandable given the massive downer that 2020 has been for so many people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And it\u2019s okay!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps you\u2019d prefer to spend the night in quiet contemplation, thinking about what 2020 brought and what 2021 may bring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To help along with that, why not create a scrap book filled with happy memories from the year? This is a great activity to share with children who feel disappointed that they can\u2019t go out and celebrate like they normally would. Fill the book with pictures of your family and friends and you\u2019ll always have something to cherish from 2020, no matter how tough the year has been.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
