The 2020 Italian Food and Wine<\/a> Tourism Report is in and it has provided us with some interesting statistics related to the wine tourism industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the report, 53% of people believe themselves to be food and wine tourists. As the report puts it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSince 2016 there has been an increase of + 12% and + 10% respectively. The total of those who declared to have made at least one trip with this motivation in the last two years internationally is 53%. Millennials lead the trend between generations, while the new \u201csuper foodies\u201d, the births of Generation Z, appear: frequent travelers who already show a high interest in food\u201c.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

As interestingly, 71% of those people say that a live wine or food experience is what they\u2019re really looking for. In other words, it\u2019s not enough for them to go to a restaurant, eat a little food, and drink some Italian wine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They want to get involved. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They want to tour wine estates and enjoy food and wine festivals. In fact, it seems like the live experience is almost as important as the actual wine and food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe you find yourself agreeing with the 53%. You want to experience Italian wine and food in a brand new way and you\u2019re planning a trip to do just that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip #1 \u2013 Budget Both Your Time and Money<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You could get lost in the sheer amount of wine tours that are available in Italy. And when you add festivals on top of that, you have a ridiculous number of options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And of course, you have limited time and money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, before you start planning a trip you need to budget. Figure out how much time you have and when you can spend it. Furthermore, work out how much money you have to spend on the trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These two budgets will help you to figure out exactly what you can do. You\u2019ll be able to cut things from your list that you can\u2019t afford while prioritising the things that you really want to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the way, when you\u2019re budgeting your cash you have to think about more than the wine experiences. Remember that you\u2019ve got to pay for flights, accommodation, and anything else that you\u2019ll need while on your holiday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even if you don\u2019t think it will be that busy, it\u2019s still worth booking in advance. It\u2019s always better to be safe and have the peace of mind that a reservation provides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip #6 \u2013 Finally\u2026Don\u2019t Stress Out!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Give yourself plenty of time to get the trip planned and do as much in advance as you possibly can. Remember that the Italian wine industry isn\u2019t going anywhere, so you don\u2019t have to rush anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proper planning will also ensure that you\u2019re able to actually enjoy yourself when you arrive. Just remember that this is meant to be a fun experience, not a stressful one!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
